Bio
Berlin Banter was founded in 2020 by music producer Chris Kobusch (also Distorted Reality with Martha Arce Hoffmann since 1997 and Eight Bit Machine since 2014). For Berlin Banter Chris collaborates with different Berlin-based vocalists and even street artists to create unconventional Electronica releases that combine traditional instruments with analog synthesizers and even recorded sounds. The debut release was the 'All Too Familiar EP' (digital in Nov 2021 and on vinyl in Nov 2022) which is a collection of reimagined songs from from bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys and others. For 'All Too Familiar' Chris worked with vocalist Cassis B Staudt who is a film music professional that was part of film producer Jim Jarmusch’s team in New York City for several years.
In early 2023 Chris works on new material. April sees the release of the new Single "I'll Wait" which is a collaboration with electronic music icon Tricky on vocals. The track is mixed by Gareth Jones who is known for mixing and producing Depeche Mode during their 'Berlin trilogy' phase when they recorded in the legendary Berlin Hansa studios.
'I'll Wait' is bending genres as it merges elements of Electronica, New Wave as well as Industrial.
